We can not stress enough how important donations are, no matter how great or small!
ERLSI operates on donations alone, and even though we don't always have a large amount of horses to care for, there are times when we are overwhelmed with them. We try not to take in anymore than our land can handle, but at the same time, we can't refuse an equine in need. Therefore we are forced to dry lot some of the horses which means that we buy more hay than normal. We try to keep plenty of hay in our barns just for the rescue animals, but sometimes we buy hay from week to week (according to our finances). We are always in need of monetary donation, but in-kind donations are always welcome. Below is a wish list of items that we currently need. Remember, since we have no paid staff all monies donated goes to providing for and caring for all of ERLSI's rescue animals. Also, any donation you make to ERLSI is tax deductible.
EVERY DONATION HELPS
YOUR $50 DONATION WILL BUY: |
- 300 lbs of 9% Sweet Feed (enough to feed 1 normal horse for 4 1/2 weeks)
- Approximately 12 square bales of hay at $4.00 a bale (enough to feed 1 normal horse for 4 weeks)
- Two evaluation, trim and treatment plans from our farrier
- Approximately 8 tubes of de-wormer (this varies from season to season
- Half of a veterinarian evaluation including vaccinations, and initial de-worming
