Sometimes ERLSI gets a horse in that can’t be adopted out immediately.  Sometimes they need medical attention, a little training, or just someone to prove that all humans aren’t cruel.  This can be a long process.  In that case, we ask for sponsors.  That way, we can do everything that needs to be done with them before giving them another new home – as we all know, that can be very traumatic for some horses, especially ones that have been neglected, or abused.  Other horses may come in with disabilities, or are very old that no one wants.  Those horses usually become permanent residents.  We are very much in need of sponsors for those horses, as most of the older ones are on Senior feed with supplements, and that becomes very costly!  In any case, whether it is because of vet costs, feed costs, or any other cost that may occur, these horses depend on the donations that are sent in by caring people.

When you sponsor a horse you will receive a photo and history of your horse and monthly updates on their progress.  Also, if you are in the area you may visit your horse (please call ahead).
